Parish church of Saint Michael Archangel was the private chapel of the monks of the monastery of Simat de la Valldigna since the second half of the seventeenth century to the confiscation of Mendizabal in which the friars were expelled from the convent and dispossessed of their property.
It was expanded and cataloged as a parish, thanks to Juan Fernandez (also known as Don Juan de Torrent) during the nineteenth century which the present facade and the two bells, the largest named Maria Micaela is held in honor of Saint Michael Archangel (head of the church) and the smallest named Maria Pastora in honor of Maria Pastora (patron saint of Barx).
