Malladetes cave

Very close to the village, still in the municipality, in the foothills of high Mondúver point, the cave of them "Malladetes" one of the most important archaeological sites in Spain opens. In it several stratigraphic levels occur with different settlements belonging to the Upper Paleolithic, and even closer to the surface arrive late Neolithic or early Neolithic.
The natural shelter has three entrances to the interior. The plant, which would mark the mouth wider entry; in the same arc of the dome of the cavity is a second, smaller and with her mouth, a third similar to the previous overture. It is thought that in ancient times the cavity was much higher than current rates. It is carved out of limestone Touraine-senonense period.
The cave is in the same mountain range where the cave is located Parpalló.
The findings on the upper level are related to the Neolithic pieces, as various ceramics and other pieces of flint. The lower level can be classified within the Mesolithic or Epi-Palaeolithic, below which the Solutrean industry appears with bay leaves, arrowheads and fins. At the deepest level it could locate a possible gravetiense industry. They have some tiles with engraved figures and traces of paint appeared.
Cultural differences between Parpalló Malladetes and raise the possibility of the existence of two coeval but different cultural aspects, one magdaleniense in Parpalló and other Mesolithic I in Malladetes. The materials of this cave are exhibited at the Museum of Prehistory of Valencia.
