The chasm is the natural drainage of the valley where the village of Barx is located. If not exist, the area would be flooded, which has been proven when sometimes hindered the entry of water with trash.
Apart from water that goes into the mountains by the chasm, it is that seeps into these massifs. Some of these waters appear throughout the Valldigna forming fountains and springs that make up the physiognomy of this river valley.
